things i love thursday
The “New Job”-Edition. At the moment I am absolutely in love with my job. Easy – it’s only four days, the workload moderate and I don’t know all the quirks and ticks of my co-workers yet. So I am going to cherish this innocence as long at it will last – because all novelty wears off sooner or later, way too fast everything will slip into routine – and then one is only too tempted to start whining.

So, without further delay, my list of stuff I love:
° My office – although I’m sandwiched between my boss and the CEO, I totally love this room. There’s lots of natural light, even with this grey and dark weather we have at the moment. And it is quite big.
° All this stuff I’m learning – most of my days consist of sitting in rooms and getting stuff explained. Like, how to do serial letters in Open Office. Or how to use the groupware – which is by the way an exellent piece of software.
° Being allowed to order everything I need from an office supplies catalogue – well, I behaved and really only orderd stuff I needed, but it was an happy half hour spent with drooling over stationary and desk equipment.

° Because my boss was in dire need of some backup, I already had small things to do, besides learning the ropes. And yesterday the tasks moved a notch up – yay!
° Laughter – the people laugh a lot, and I like it. It says something about the vibes, and those vibes are very good.
° The fact that I like to get up in the mornings – although I miss sleeping until 8, and 6:30 is hellishly early – even for a morning person like me. I just do my best to go to bed quite early, so that I get at least 7 hours of sleep.
° Because I am not home all day, my appartment looks pretty tidy. Astonishingly, because I usually leave a trail of chaos in my wake. But I try to pick up behind me, and it’s not as much as usual.
hmmmmmm – very clever remarks. Write down the things you notice, and then when you have gotten accustomed to everything and perhaps getting frustrated put them on your desk and read them again. You might get some very interesting point of views.
